Bothwell Road action group (BRAG)  was established in 2014 after many years of neglect to Bothwell road public park the local community wished to maximize committed investment by South Lanarkshire council for the facility.

​

as part of  the groups efforts and working closely with council officers and local elected members £160,000 of new play equipment was installed in the park this was celebrated by the local community at an official open day in October 2016.

​

The group continued to care for the park organizing family events and community clean ups resulting in the 2017 south Lanarkshire voluntary sector award for Community indicative of the year at the voluntary Action South Lancashire 3rd Sector awards.

 

The group took the decision to expand its service explore setting up as an independent charity to deliver 4 core principles

  • Improving the life chances of children and young people by enabling positive outcomes through imagination creativity and play.

  • Promote the park among the wider community by encouraging people to visit and enjoy its facilities​.

  • Help promote understanding and knowledge of the rich heritage of the park and so protect it for future generations.
